World and Mods

World settings

The panel reads and edits world configuration, including:

  • World name and seed.
  • Game mode and difficulty.
  • Day/night cycle, weather and time scale.
  • Creature spawning and drop rules.
  • Autosave interval.

Back up saves before changing world settings. Some values are read only when the world loads and require an instance restart.

Mod management

Mods can be viewed, installed, enabled, disabled and removed:

  1. Open the Mods section of an instance.
  2. Upload a mod file or select an existing one.
  3. Adjust load order if needed.
  4. Restart the instance.

Mod conflicts usually appear as startup failures or load errors in the log. Stop the instance, disable the most recent mod, and bisect from there.

File browser

The Files page provides:

  • Directory browsing with size and modification time.
  • Upload, download, rename, copy and delete.
  • Online editing of text files.
  • Creating directories and empty files.

Follow the server's documentation when editing configuration files of a running server.

Backups and restore

Worlds and mods are part of the instance directory and covered by backups:

  • Manual backups before significant changes.
  • Scheduled backups for daily protection; at least once per day is recommended.
  • Restore overwrites the current instance directory; stop the instance first.

Backups can be downloaded for long-term storage. When migrating between machines, include config.json and instance configuration.

Notes

  • Do not replace world saves while the server is running.
  • Large mods increase memory usage; adjust limits and restart.
  • Keep the original encoding and indentation when editing configuration files.
